About Me

About Marie Dandie

My life has been based around food and nature. I grew up in the country and from an early age was interested in food and knew that I wanted a food based career, combined with education. I completed a degree at Queen Margaret, Edinburgh, specialising in nutrition & food science. Thereafter I completed a post graduate in secondary education to become a Home Economics Teacher. I am a principal teacher, delivering the national curriculum within Health & Wellbeing faculty, presenting and examining students for SQA examinations in Health and Food Technology.

Despite all my nutritional knowledge, my own body imbalances occurred, because of a combination of factors, resulting in numerous symptoms and a reduced quality of life. One of the major contributors to me seeking to find the answer to regain my own health was the result of a road accident, which caused me to be hurt, physically and mentally.

Conventional medicine gave me little hope of being fully functional and pain free. Consequently, I became interested in the other options available to me. Thus began my interest in complementary health care. My journey made me realise the real power of natural food, diet and lifestyle. Consequently, my initial accident trauma was reduced, along with the pain and gradually full body function regained.

Then one by one, the other symptoms I had previously experienced were gone. My hunger for knowledge made me a want to study at The College of Naturopathic Medicine, where I undertook the three year diploma in naturopathic nutrition, graduating in nutritional therapy. I am fully qualified, affiliated and insured. I am a member of BANT; Complementary & Natural Healthcare Council; accredited by the professional standards authority; a registered member of the General Teaching Council (Scotland); and a senior associate member of the Royal Society of Medicine.

I love waking up every day, because in my professional life, no two days are ever the same. My clients, the students I teach, and the practitioners I network with, continually inspire me to make a difference.

I look forward to meeting you, and being part of the journey to your optimum health.
